I waffled this year over whether to have a Super Bowl party or not. It felt strange to consider not having one since Jason and I have hosted one every year since we started dating. In light of everything that has happened with our families the last week: Jason's Nana passing, Derek's potential hearing loss paired with my uncle having a heart attack, a cousin being rushed to the ER with an allergic reaction and another cousin fracturing his skull in a work related accident (plus a few other random things) we just weren't sure if we had any party left in us. At the last minute we ended up with a few guests with children which actually turned out wonderfully. The kids played together and by the end of the night, Derek was falling asleep on his changing table while we got him dried off from his bath and dressed for bed. Definitely the strongest argument for having a sibling around I've ever witnessed. Ally, thanks for bringing the boys. Derek really enjoyed playing with them. Dawn, I hope David was as easy to put to bed as Derek.
The highlight of the evening had to be when Derek got Shane's Dr Pepper and turned it upside down on top of his head. Priceless! He sported a slightly spikey wet look for the rest of the evening and with his new haircut it looked pretty cool. I might have to get a little bit of styling gel for him.
The rest of the week is pretty mild and this Friday I will be going to the opening night of Cosi Fan Tutte at the new Dallas Opera House. So excited!

Thanks so much for your willingness to have a party in spite of your week! We all had such a great time! The boys LOVED playing with the little guys! Who knew it would go so well! My guys were just as easy to get to sleep, so maybe we need to do it more often! ;-)
And as far as the Dr. Pepper went, we have obviously forgotten what it's like to have little ones around that require watching where you put things... LOL! That really was hilarious though! Nothing like a wet, sticky little guy! He did look so cute and didn't seem to be too bothered by the incident!
